Adelai Joy

Giving birth to my daughter was a series of events I will never forget. On Tuesday evening, Colby and I went out to dinner. At some point in the evening, I told Colby that I thought we should head to the hospital. Given my history of delievering babies in a startingly short amount of time, I thought we should go to the hospital sooner rather than later (labors for both Breslin and Dharia were only 4 hours each). When we got there, I was discouraged to find that I wasn't very far along in the labor process, but they decided not to send us home based on said history. It turns out this was a very good thing. 20 minutes after being told that we could be there for a while, I was in the jacuzzi tub when I realized that the baby was coming RIGHT NOW. Long story short, I gave birth to my daughter in the bathroom of my hospital room. Even though it was somewhat horrifying, I find myself wanting to relive the details of her birth over and over again. I never want to forget the feeling of wel...

This is the quilt my aunt is making for the new baby. I love it! I can't wait to wrap my new daughter all up in it.

Haircut for the Bres-meister

Image
Before: lookin' a little weird. After: pure stud muffin. My son does not do haircuts well. In fact, Colby and I put it off as long as humanly possible...and sometimes longer than that...because of how horribly Breslin screams and carries on during his haircuts. The poor child had to lean his head back because he bangs were so long that he couldn't see anything. We can't take him to a public place like Fantastic Sams because his distress is so disturbing to the people there. So, our only option was to do it at home. Uncle E rose to the occasion. It took three of us to hold him down and get it done, but it got done nonetheless. Now my little Bres looks like a completely different kid, but it's so nice to see his sweet handsome face!

Shamrock Shake Envy

One great thing about this time of year is defnitely the Shamrock Shakes at McDonald's. I've had more than a few since they came to Albion, and we quickly found that our daughter was also a huge fan (shocking, I know). It's been a while since I've posted anything. It's not necessarily because I'm so busy, but more to do with the fact that I don't really think of anything that we do as noteworthy to publish on line. But, I still have people asking me about it, so I should probably try to be better about posting more regularly. I'm not promising twice a week or anything, but definitely more than once every three months. The biggest thing on my mind right now really is how to get rid of the ridiculous multi-colored asian lady beetles that seem to have invaded our house. Yesterday I vacuumed up probably close to a thousand (in the house...YUCK) and they were still crawling around 20 minutes later. I can't take it. My mental health depends on getti...

"Pants on the Ground", by Breslin

After watching Brett Favre sing this yesterday, Colby and I have been walking around the house singing this to ourselves. Breslin must have caught on...

Happy Birthday to Uncle E!
