Day 168 -- A Little Help from My Friend

My friend April is amazing beyond words.  She is someone I admire deeply for her compassion for others and for her enthusiasm for life.  We are so close and remain that way even when our busy schedules keep us from spending much time together.  When it's been a while since we've seen each other and we are finally able to connect, it's like we never were apart.  She is understanding and supportive when life gets crazy, which I so appreciate.   I couldn't do her justice in having an "April" post, so I would like to focus tonight on a specific character attribute, and that is her absolute genuine willingness to help me out however and whenever she can.

Tonight's example is a meeting that I didn't realize that I had in the evening, which directly coincided with a meeting that Colby had at school.    It wouldn't have been a big deal but for the fact that I have three muchkins who require supervision.  Daycare was closed during that time, Mimo was busy, and Grandma had baseball games with Cole and Cal.  I was starting to sweat it a little bit, but one simple call to my friend and we were all set.  She could have balked at the fact that she would have all three of them by herself, she could have declined based on the fact that she already had another obligation later that evening, but she didn't.  She came through in a pinch, like she has so many times before.  For that, for her, for our friendship, I consider myself so blessed and am so grateful.

Thank God for a little (actually a LOT of) help from my very dear friend!

Lord, thank you for April and that she always has my back.  Thank you that she was willing to watch the kids for me tonight so that Colby and I could take care of our respective obligations.  Thank you for her friendship and for the amazing person that she is.  I feel so blessed that she is a part of my life.  Please help me to be a blessing and a help to her as well.  In your name I pray, Amen.
