Day 573 -- We Made It!

Well, it's TWO FREAKING THIRTY-FOUR in the morning, but we are finally in our hotel room in Burlington, Vermont.

Well, let's see.

First, we managed to lock ourselves out of our running car 20 minutes after leaving home for the airport.

Then, when we got to the airport, our flight to DC was put on delay for an hour.

And then another hour.

And then another hour.

And then we went to go get a $9.00 beer at the airport TGI Friday's.  But guess what?  They were out of beer.

So, we went back and our flight was boarding!  Good thing we couldn't have a beer! :)

We got to Washington, DC and found out that our flight to Burlington was delayed 2 hours.

And then we went to get a $9.00 beer at the airport.  And they weren't out of beer.

I ate a giant pickle.  It was delicious.

We boarded our flight to Burlington after midnight, only to be told that the rental car counters closed at 2 am.

FLY, PLANE, FLY!

Colby bulldozed about a dozen people, including young ones and the elderly in his effort to get to the Alamo Counter before closing.  At 1:56 am, we were handed the keys to a beautiful Chrysler Town and Country mini-van.  It really makes my van look really, really bad.  Oh well.

And now we're here!

I guess the Ironman won't be the only test of endurance on this trip.  Colby and I made it, and considering the circumstances, we actually had a lot of fun and a lot of laughs.  I'm looking forward to a travel-free day tomorrow, but for now, I'm so happy that we are actually here.

Thank God we made it!

God, thank you for getting us here tonight.  Thank you for helping us get through all of the frustrations and for giving us each other's company to enjoy.  Please give us a restful, stress-free day tomorrow.  In your name I pray, Amen.
