Day 911 -- Air Quality
I logged on to the Weather Channel today to see what the weather was going to bring over the next couple of days. Due to my time over the past month on the east side of the state, I still had Ortonville and Detroit in my saved locations. I noticed that both of these places had an ominous looking red "1" in the upper right hand corner, signaling a weather alert of some kind. Albion, however, showed no alerts. Curious, I clicked on Detroit's alert to see what was going on. It turns out it was an Air Quality alert. Apparently, the air quality on the east side of the state is poor enough that the Weather Channel needs to warn people of it and encourage them to participate in activities that will not further contribute to the deterioration of the air quality. Today I am so thankful that I live in a place that does not receive Air Quality alerts. Albion may be small and there may not be a ton to do (and there might not be a Taco Bell), but it is beautiful and relatively unscathed due to our low population density. As I sit on the porch, admiring the peaceful and clean Kalamazoo river and breathing in the scent of fresh cut grass, I am thankful to live in a place where I can inhale the goodness of our air without having to worry about my health.
Thank God for our air quality!
Lord, thank you for our air quality here in Albion and for allowing me to live in a place where this isn't an issue. Please help me and my family to contribute to our air quality as positively as we can. In your name I pray, Amen.
