Day 1186 -- Children's Museum of Indianapolis
On a whim this morning, while passing through Indianapolis, we decided to make a stop at the Children's Museum of Indianapolis. According to the expertly placed billboards lining I-65, this museum was the biggest and best children's museum in the country. We thought it might be a good way for us to celebrate AJ's birthday...and for us to put off the inevitable end of our vacation that continued to loom ever closer the more miles we put between us and Alabama.
I can't describe in words how astounded we were by what I'm sure IS the biggest and best children's museum in the country. I'm confident that you could spend 2 days there and not see everything.
Breslin was amazed by the water clock and the Dinosphere exhibits, where, among other things, he got to check out real dinosaur skeletons and do a simulated fossil dig.
AJ loved the Playscape -- an entire area devoted to young kids' need to play and explore. Think of a mix between the Chelsea treehouse, Impressions 5, and Kids 'N Stuff. She and Dharia also found the exhibit on dollhouses, where they played with a giant dollhouse for nearly an hour.
Within minutes of arriving, we had already purchased a membership and plan to return whenever it's possible. It was that cool.
I'm thankful for a wonderful experience, another chance to hangout with my kids doing something fun, and for a way to put off the end of our vacation for one more day.
Thank God for the Children's Museum of Indianapolis!
Lord, thank you for an awesome time in an amazing place. Thank you for my family, who seems to be up for anything. In your name I pray, Amen.
